Kidney-shaped Centre Desk - L 113 cm

A handsome antique kidney-shaped centre desk, distinguished by its generous proportions and beautifully figured timber. The sweeping curved form is complemented by a green leather writing surface with gilt-tooled border, while the rounded pedestal ends give the desk an elegant, almost architectural presence. The front is arranged with seven drawers, each following the curves of the desk and fitted with brass handles, with additional panelled detailing continuing around the sides. The deeply shaped kneehole and substantial pedestal bases give the piece a strong presence while retaining the refinement of its fluid silhouette.
