Late 19th-century English revolving bookcase, designed to provide an impressive amount of storage while occupying very little floor space. The square body revolves on its original base and is divided into open book compartments, three drawers and a lockable cabinet, allowing each side to serve a different purpose. Beautifully made throughout, with fine inlaid details, brass fittings, vertical slatted sides and the original castors. Its clever construction makes books and stored objects accessible simply by rotating the piece — a wonderful example of the ingenuity found in late Victorian English furniture.
